Sand Hollow Fire District · Southern Payette County

Emergency response for the Sand Hollow district.

A well-trained group of volunteers, with apparatus suited to the district we protect.

Trained personnel

The truck is only as good as the crew on it.

Our crews train throughout the year for wildland fire, structure fires, extrication, water rescue, rope rescue, vehicle accidents, and all other emergency calls.

What we protect

A district that
isn't standard.

Sand Hollow is farm ground, open range, and the homes scattered in between: what firefighters call the wildland–urban interface. Irrigated fields run up against dry sage, and any fire that starts has potential to impact a large area.

That shapes everything we run. There is no hydrant waiting at the end of these driveways, so our tenders carry the water in. Brush trucks go where engines can't, and we use brush trucks and dozers to suppress fire in grass and sage.

It is not a standard fleet, because this is not a standard district.
